How to Clean and Care for Sterling Silver Jewellery
Sterling silver can tarnish over time. For jewellery confirmed to be sterling silver, gentle cleaning and dry storage help maintain the finish. Always check the exact material of your PhilU variant before following silver-specific care advice.
Simple cleaning routine
- Use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap.
- Clean gently with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
- Rinse carefully and dry completely.
- For visible tarnish on confirmed sterling silver, use a polishing cloth intended for sterling silver.
What to avoid
Avoid abrasive toothpaste, harsh household cleaners, prolonged soaking and unnecessary contact with perfume, chlorine or other chemicals. Plated finishes may need different care from unplated sterling silver.
Projection jewellery
For a projection element, start with a dry microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive cleaning. If you are unsure about the material or finish, contact support before using a chemical cleaner or polishing product.
